Coledale Horseshoe from Braithwaite
Weather on the Fells can change rapidly ... up-to-date weather on 0870 0550575
(Distance 9.8 miles )
A constructed step path leads out of the car park, right side as you enter the car park, and leads up to above Braithwaite village.  The path soon becomes level before turning right (southwest) and progressing uphill.  (The route up Grisedale Pike from the car park is straightforward, deviate left or right off the path and it is mostly down steep fell sides.)

The top of Grisedale Pike soon becomes visible ......... assuming it is a relatively cloud-free day!  From here on it gets quite rocky and steep, with drops either side become ever closer to the path.   Continue up the path to arrive at the top of Grisedale Pike.
