A constructed step path leads
out of the car park, right side as you enter the car park, and leads up to
above Braithwaite village. The path soon becomes level before
turning right (southwest) and progressing uphill. (The route
up Grisedale Pike from the car park is straightforward, deviate left or
right off the path and it is mostly down steep fell sides.)

The top of Grisedale Pike
soon becomes visible ......... assuming it is a relatively cloud-free day!
From here on it gets quite rocky and steep, with drops either side
become ever closer to the path. Continue up the path to arrive
at the top of Grisedale Pike.

Continue on from Grisedale Pike, heading
towards Hopegill Head. The path drops down, rises to rocky
knoll, before dropping again to the foot of Hobcarton Crags.

Two
paths lead up to Hopegill Head, one hugging the ledge of the crags, the
other further in away from the drop. It is a gentle climb to the
rocky top of Hopegill Head.

Head down from Hopegill Head over Sand Hill
then down a steep loose section to Coledale Hause.

From Coledale
Hause, take the path south, between Crag Hill and Grassmoor, arriving at a
col near Wandope Moss. Take the wide path left up to the flat top of
Crag Hill.

From the Trig Point of Crag Hill, head
southeast along the crest, overlooking Coledale, to join the path heading
towards Sail. The path is a rocky ridge as it descends to The Scar
before rising to Sail

From Sail, follow the path down to the col
then up and along the ridge over Long Scar to Causey Pike.

Drop down the steep rocky path from the summit to Sleet Hause that goes
out to Rolling End.

Take the path off to the left, again steep
at the start, then bearing right down to the bridge at Stoneycroft.

Go left along the road, passing Uzzicar
Farm, then off left onto the footpath through the bracken on the slopes
of Barrow. Continue around Barrow back to Braithwaite Lodge, then
down to Braithwaite village. Go left on the road to join the
Whinlatter road, then return up to the car park.
