(Distance 7.5 miles)

From the White Horse Inn, walk back towards Keswick on
the same side, then just past a house, join the path off behind the
house.

The path rises around Scales Fell and
above Mousthwaite Comb. From above Mousthwaite Comb, the path
levels out as it progresses northwest between Scales Fell and Whitehorse
Bent/Bannerdale, eventually arriving at the outflow from Scales Tarn.

Turn left at the Beck and follow the path uphill to
Scales Tarn. The two main options now are right and over Sharp
Edge, or left and up the side of Scales Fells.

From Scales Tarn, follow the path up left onto Scales
Fell.

At the top, turn right onto the Scales Fell path and along the edge above Scales Tarn.

Continue up on the path left as it gently rises to the
summit of Blencathra.

The path now follows the edge of Saddleback
and on to Blease Fell summit. From Blease Fell summit, continue southwest on the path
as it starts to descend Blease Fell. The path splits halfway down,
the left goes straight down the steep Fell, while right provides a more
gentle descent. (I took the gentle options)

Take the footpath off right at the Blencathra Centre,
signposted to Keswick, and follow it down to Derwentfolds where it meets
a road going left. Go straight on down to the farm, then left down
the path to Brundholme.

The path eventually meets the old Keswick railway
track. Turn right and continue on the track back to Keswick.
