28 April - Khare Base Camp

Another rest/acclimatisation day. Mick had nothing specific organised, other than those who wished could have a walk up a ridge path at the back of the camp. A few of us set out, but soon all had turned back other than Lucci, Brian and I. We decided to continue to the top of the ridge ......... but it took time. Two false crests later, we decided to lighten our load and abandoned the rucksacks to take a more comfortable walk to the top. Unfortunately, the clouds had lowered obscuring the view we had strived to see. We had reached 5000m/16300ft again, so it was another good acclimatisation walk. The descent was slow as we returned to camp, arriving at the same time as the snow!

After lunch, Mick gave us a briefing on what we should be taking to High Camp for the summit attempt.

Snow became more intense in the afternoon, which necessitated the Sherpas going round the tents at regular intervals to clear snow off.
