There is a small car park in the woods, up from the
church on the left, where the footpath goes out to Houns-tout Cliff.
Alternative parking is further up the road where the path is joined going
out to Swyre Head.

There is a small woodland parking area up the road
past the village pub, keeping the church on the right, which gives access
out to the Houns-tout Cliff path. There is alternative parking a mile
further up the lane where the path goes out to Swyre Head.

Leave the woodland car park and back on to the road,
following the lane up to the alternative parking area. At the parking
area, go through the stone pillar gate, then right up the footpath/track
out to Swyre Head.

At Swyre Head, go right along the top of the hill,
following the path which gives great views out to sea. The path eventually
drops down to the narrow lane coming from Kingston.

Go left down to meet the Kimmeridge road with a
footpath opposite. Avoid this path and go right for a few yards, then join
the path going left above Kimmeridge and leading out to Lulworth Ranges.
Continue on the path until near the range area, then go left onto The Hardy
Way path.

After a short distance, branch right onto the unclear
path going down to Kimmeridge Bay. (This section of The hardy Way can be
very overgrown with nettles and brambles.) Continue south across a large
field, then through a smaller field to a metalled road. Go right and follow
the road to Kimmeridge Bay.

From Kimmeridge Bay, go left on the South West Coast
Path around the bay to the boat landing area, then up onto the cliffs. From
the derelict round tower, head east along the cliff path.

Pass (name of area below Swyre Head) and around to the
foot of Houns-tout Cliff, then up the steep section to the top of the cliff.
Superb views from the top on a mist-free day ... ideal lunch stop, although
could be busy during fine weather summer season.

From Houns-tout, continue along the cliff path down
to above Chapman’s Pool. At the bottom, go left across the field to the
concrete track coming down from Kingston. Go right on the track, following
it around, and inland, to meet The Purbeck Way path

Go left onto the Purbeck Way, following around north
to meet the B3069 going out to Swanage. Turn left and follow the road back
to Kingston. Continue left up past the The Scott Arms pub soon to be back
at the car park.
