The walk starts on the Corhampton to Morestead road, just before entering Morestead from the direction of Corhampton. Parking is a very small area on the right side of the road with room for a couple of cars! (Grid SU 514253) Distance: 12 miles |

Follow the right footpath (easterly) to the farm track
leading to Warren Farm. Cross the track and continue on the path down the
right side of trees and across a field to the left corner. Continue across
the next field, just north of east (and the left of two paths), to meet the

Turn left onto the King’s Way and follow this path
north in Old Down Wood. Not long after joining the King’s Way, take a
footpath right (southeast) dropping down the woods. Cross a clearing,
passing under electricity wires, and up through the wood to meet a country

Turn left on the lane and walk up to the entrance of
Longwood House, on the right side. Turn into the drive and follow the road
which is the direction of the footpath. Avoid the footpath off to the
left, near a large walled area, and a further path up the road on the
right, signposted to the Shooting Lodge. Follow the track down
hill (southerly) through fields to near Longwood Dean Farm at the bottom.

Turn left and follow the narrow country lane for just
over a mile, passing Lane End Farm, to the road junction at Lane End.
Cross the road and follow the path between the house gardens, eventually

Join the South Downs way, going left, and continue
past Holden Farm to the A272. Cross the road and follow the path/track,
through a gate, then right to the corner of the field. Turn left, still on
the South Downs Way, and follow the edge to gander Down. Follow the
South Downs Way, crossing a country lane, to where Temple Valley is on the

The South Downs Way turns left just after Temple
Valley. Continue left here, still on the South Downs Way, passing through
Cheesefoot Head Wood to meet the A272 again. Cross the road, and up for a

Heading south, follow the track over Longwood Warren
to the point where it passes down to the left side of a wooded area. At this
point, turn right to join a footpath that follows the right edge of the
wood. (Avoid following a farm track in the same direction but outside of the

The path heads west, passing another entrance to
Warren Farm, eventually meeting a house on the right at the start of a
metalled road. Go down the lane towards Morestead until a edge-lined path is
reached on the left. Follow this downhill at first, then uphill to exit at
